Recycling mineral water bottles to make shower gel bottles.

South Korean cosmetics company Amore Pacific recently signed a voluntary agreement with the Ministry of Environment of South Korea to transfer high-quality transparent plastic bottles to cosmetic containers, becoming the first government-designated cooperative enterprise in the field of cosmetics.

According to the agreement, Amorepacific’s HAPPY BATH and Primera cosmetic containers will give priority to the use of recycled plastics, and will continue to expand the scope of use of recycled plastics in the future. The Ministry of the Environment and TK CHEMICAL will provide active support.

Amorepacific intends to build a transparent plastic bottle recycling system, which will make a 300ml shower gel bottle from 3 recycled 2L mineral water bottles.

Up to now, Amorepacific has held the "Green Cycle" campaign for cosmetic empty bottles and artistic creation environmental protection activities for 12 consecutive years. The company started with Innisfree in 2003 and has collected 2,100 tons of empty bottles from 2.1 million customers as of August this year.

In June last year, the company signed a plastic empty bottle recycling business agreement with the global environmental company TerraCycle. It plans to recycle at least 100 tons of empty plastic bottles every year in the next three years, and achieve 100% empty bottle recycling by 2025 , The application ratio of products and articles reaches 50%.
